Cottonwood Roadrunners Festival Oct. 9th & 10th 2009 had a great turn out.  Saturday they served a pot luck luncheon. The food was great and the company was even better. After lunch we had a fun casual dance.

This year they went with 2 different Callers- Friday evening was Stephen Cole nice turn out.  I Called for their Saturday afternoon fun casual dance. That evening they had a dance Mainstream and Plus with rounds. Annie Brownrigg cued the rounds and she did a great job.

When the dancers came in they were ready to dance and have fun.  There was a Grand March, and it was a thrill to see so many dancers involved,  setting the tone for the evening.

I have Called several times for Cottonwoodroad Runners and it has always been a pleasure, But this is the first time they invited me to Call at their Festival and that was an Honor and so much fun.

I was ready for a good fun evening and so were the dancers.  I used a lot of fun up beat music and the dancers response was with hoops and howlers all evening long.

We did for the first time try to start a summer program. It has been doing pretty good and have lots of good response from it. The dancing has been great.  I have enjoyed this as much as the dancers have.

Every Tuesday night at 7-9pm there is a plus dance at Rock Shadows. We have been having lots of fun. Everyone who come out is ready for a good fun time.  The dress is casual.

Wednesday nights we have a A-1 workshop dance. This has turned out to be pretty good, and the dancers are getting lots out of the workshop. The level each week is better and better. I truely have enjoyed this program.

May 22, 23, 24, & 25th 2009

I was really looking forward to coming up there again. Last year was the Spring Fling and this year the Buffalo Wallow. I flew up on a Thur. and the Festival started on Fri. We had workshops in the day and dances in the evening, well by the clock it was evening but by the sun it was always light. Sure it would get dusk but that is the darkest it would get.

We had fun and some of the dancers were at every workshop and dance didn't miss a thing. To see so many having so much fun. Do have a video of them dancing to Soul Man and they were having a great time with it check it out when you can. www.youtube.com  There was lots of good dancing and big smiles and lots of laughing.

Got to do lots of fun things in the pattern calls. There were lots of surprise looks on some of the faces, which was great.

After the dances in the evenings there was a big campfire. One of the favorite foods was campfire pies. They were great and they were filled with different things.

Valley Singles is a fun Club. They are getting bigger each year. It is always a pleasure to call for their them.  Did alot of fun Pattern and some fun up beat Singing calls.  Steve Harris was the Cuer for the evening. It  is always fun to work with him. Steve keep the floor full of Round dancers.

We had over 6 squares on the floor for most of the evening, which the club was real happy about.  They were having so much fun. It makes me feel good when you see so many smiles and hear lots of laughing.  Lots of good refreshments. We have made many friends there. Did get some video taken which is now on youtube. It was a big honor to come back and call for this Club. There is alot of History with the  Thunderbirds and myself. Way back in my eariler years I use to call and teach for this Club.  I moved away from the area. Then years later I moved closer to their area.

The dance was like a homecoming. So many ole' faces and there were some new ones, many new ones. Also there were a couple of couples that I had taught over 25 years ago. To see them still dancing and still having as much fun brought such a good feeling. They danced and danced some more. Many of the dancers were happy that I was back in the area.

The decorations were great. The theme was Hickory Dickory Dockery. They had a grandfathers clock with mice on it.

The dancing was good lots of engery and excitment. I was a treat to have Carrie Masters showed up and she did a tip with me. I think she is one of the greatest female Callers there is, maybe I am partical cause she is also my very bestest of friends. She is one of the callers that...

I have been calling & teaching for this Club for a few years, I am honored. We have made  so many good friends. They are not a big Club, but they have been around for over 35 years.

They are Fun & Friendly and they love to dance, and make new friends.

They Dance on the 2nd & 4th Fridays of every month. They do have Rounds which is Cued by Barb Haines.
